  • Cover Kids provides comprehensive health coverage for children 18 and under and maternity coverage for pregnant women. It offers coverage, similar to the benefits offered to dependents of state employees. The state expects to begin the CoverKids program in early 2007.   • Cover TN partners the state, private employers and individuals to offer guaranteed, affordable basic health coverage for employees of Tennessee's small businesses. Information is available at http://www.covertn.gov or 1-866-CoverTN.


  • Access TN provides a comprehensive health insurance plan for seriously ill adults who have been turned down by insurance companies. www.covertn.gov or 1-866-CoverTN.


  • The Memphis Plan is an affordable health care program for lower-wage, uninsured working people. It answers the needs of our employed citizens who "fall through the cracks" of the current healthcare system – those who earn too much to qualify for state/federal sponsored programs, yet who do not have access to affordable health insurance.   • Bridges to Care (BTC) links uninsured residents of Nashville to a network of some 35 safety net primary health, dental, mental health, and substance abuse clinics that serve patients based on their ability to pay.   • The Trade Adjustment Assistance (TAA) program provides aid - including health insurance assistance - to trade displaced workers who lose their jobs or whose hours of work and wages are reduced. Health care benefits include a 65% advanceable and refundable tax credit that can be used for health insurance coverage such as COBRA or continuing individual market coverage.
